IAN MIDDLEMAS | B.Com, CA | CHAIRMAN

Mr Middlemas is a Chartered Accountant, a member of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He worked for a large international Chartered Accounting firm before joining the Normandy Mining Group where he was a senior group executive for approximately 10 years. He has had extensive corporate and management experience, and is currently a director with a number of publicly listed companies in the resources sector.

Mr Middlemas was appointed a Director of Sovereign Metals Limited on 20 July 2006.

Julian Stephens | B.Sc (Hons), PhD, MAIG | Managing Director

Dr Stephens is a Geologist with extensive experience in the resources sector having spent in excess of 20 years in board, executive management, senior operational and economic geology research roles for a number of companies. He has spent in 12 of those years working on African projects including 9 years on projects in Malawi. Dr Stephens holds a PhD from James Cook University, Queensland and is a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists. Dr Stephens led the team that discovered the Malawi Flake Graphite Projects.

Dr Stephens was appointed a Director of Sovereign Metals Limited on 22 January 2016 and subsequently appointed Managing Director in June 2016.

Mark Pearce | B.Bus, CA, FCIS, F Fin |NON-EXECTIVE DIRECTOR

Mr Pearce is a Chartered Accountant and is currently a director of several listed companies that operate in the resources sector. He has had considerable experience in the formation and development of listed resource companies and has worked for several large international Chartered Accounting firms. Mr Pearce is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

Mr Pearce was appointed a Director of Sovereign on 20 July 2006.

Ben Stoikovich | B.Eng, M.Eng, M.Sc, CEng, CEnv |NON-EXECTIVE DIRECTOR

Mr Stoikovich is an experienced mining executive and corporate finance professional residing in London. Mr Stoikovich is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Prairie Mining Limited (ASX: PDZ) and was formerly a Director of the Mining and Metals Corporate Finance Division of Standard Chartered Bank in London, with extensive experience in financing the development of African mining projects and exposure to the mineral sands sector.

Mr Stoikovich started his career as a mining engineer with BHP Billiton in Australia, gaining broad experience across mine operations management and qualifying as a mine manager. He holds a post graduate degree in Environmental Engineering and UK professional designation as a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) with wide ranging experience of managing the environmental, social and sustainability aspects of mining projects across the life-cycle and the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) requirements of the investment community.

Mr Stoikovich was appointed a Director of Sovereign on 13 October 2020.

Management

Paul Marcos | B.Sc | Head of Development

Mr Paul Marco has 27 years of operations, engineering and consulting expertise, the majority of this in mineral sands. Prior to joining Sovereign, Mr Marcos spent over five years at Base Resources Limited where he served as Metallurgical and Processing Superintendent – Project Development and worked on pre-feasibility studies, definitive feasibility studies and engineering design studies for the Kwale North and Kwale Phase 2 Projects in Kenya as well as the Toliara Project in Madagascar.

SAM CORDIN | B.Com, CA | Corporate Development

Mr Cordin is an experienced Chartered Accountant who commenced his career at a large international accounting firm and has since been involved with a number of ASX and AIM listed exploration and development companies operating in the resources sector, including most recently Salt Lake Potash Limited.

Dylan Browne| B.Com, CA | Company Secretary

Mr Browne is a Chartered Accountant and Associate Member of the Governance Institute of Australia (Chartered Secretary) who is currently Company Secretary for a number of ASX and European listed companies that operate in the resources sector. He commenced his career at a large international accounting firm and has since been involved with a number of exploration and development companies operating in the resources sector, based from London and Perth, including Berkeley Energia Limited, Prairie Mining Limited and Papillon Resources Limited. Mr Browne successfully listed Prairie Mining Limited on the Main Board of the London Stock Exchange and the Warsaw Stock Exchange in 2015 and recently oversaw Berkeley’s listings on the Main Board LSE and the Madrid, Barcelona, Bilboa and Valencia Stock Exchanges.
